At Arvo, we’re all about pushing boundaries, creating connections, and building a community of like-minded people who love to play - and what better way to celebrate that spirit than by collaborating with one of the most exciting, yet controversial personalities in tennis, Nick Kyrgios! Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to design not just one but two custom pickleball paddles for Nick, showcasing both his edgy personality and competitive spirit.

The design process: merging passion and performance
When we decided to design paddles for Nick Kyrgios, we knew we had to deliver something extraordinary. Our mission was to create paddles that weren’t just visually stunning but also embodied Nick’s unique style and passion. We decided to craft two distinct paddles -each with a touch of Kyrgios flair.
The first paddle was designed for fun and casual play, a nod to Nick’s vibrant personality off the court. This paddle featured a graphic inspired by his iconic back tattoo along with elements of his well-known love for Pokémon. It’s a playful tribute to the lighter side of the game and a reminder that even the best athletes find joy in the little things.
The second paddle was what Nick referred to as his “go-to paddle for chopping people up on the court.” This paddle was all about performance, featuring the logo of the Nick Kyrgios Foundation and enhanced specs for serious play. Designed for speed, power, and control, this paddle reflects the competitive edge Nick brings to every match, whether it’s tennis or pickleball.

Initially, our plan was simple: package up the paddles and send them off to Nick. But Seany, one of our co-founders and a huge fan of Nick, had a better idea. He was determined to hand-deliver the paddles and meet one of his all-time favorite athletes in person. So, when Nick was in New York City for the US Open, Seany hopped on a plane, paddles in tow, for a one-of-a-kind meeting.
The meeting couldn’t have gone better. Nick was thrilled with the paddles, appreciating both the personal touches and the high-performance specs. Seeing Nick’s reaction in person was a surreal moment for Seany, and it made all the effort worthwhile. As you can see from the video on this page, Nick was genuinely excited about his new gear, and we’re hopeful that this is just the beginning of our relationship with him.
